Cale Makar just did something no other NHL player in history has ever done

Before I get going, Cale Makar.. just wow. We knew this kid was going to be good from his Playoff debut a few years back. I'm not sure anyone saw him being THIS good. Makar was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL's playoff MVP last night to go along with his Stanley Cup win and his Norris Trophy from this season. It all adds to a trophy case, as of right now, is like nobody else's.

Makar won the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA's top male player in 2018-2019. He won the Calder Trophy in 2019-2020 for being the NHL's best rookie. This season's Norris, Smythe and Stanley Cup put the cherry on top. No other player in NHL history has won all 5 of these awards.

What's disappointing is that Makar's season could have been even better if not for the pandemic. Had the NHL been able to go to the Olympics, Makar was a shoo-in to make a Canadian team that would have been the favourite to take home Gold. Luckily for Makar, he's young. He'll be 28 years old by the next Winter Olympics, still in his prime years and you can bet he'll be hungry to add that gold medal to his already unprecedented trophy case.
