This week, it was reported that the trade talks have once again intensified for Arizona Coyotes defender Jakob Chychrun. At this point, it feels like a game of chicken between rival GMs and Yotes GM Bill Armstrong, who is holding firm to his lofty asking price for Chychrun, as well he should.

Per a recent report on TSN's Insider Trading, the price on Chychrun is not as lofty as it was last season, but it is still very high, with teams needing to pony up a 1st round pick and a top prospect at the very least, with other peripheral balancing pieces, depending on the deal.

The Leafs and Oilers were two teams who were rumoured to have been in contact with the Coyotes on Chychrun. For the Leafs, it makes a lot of sense, given the injury issues they're facing on the blueline at the moment, but GM Kyle Dubas may hold onto most of his top assets to pull off a bit of a deadline hail mary in an attempt to build the team for a lengthy playoff run. As for the Oilers, well, according to Sportsnet's Mark Spector, the Oilers may be out on Chychrun after finding out what the Yotes want from them.

Spector is reporting that the two pieces that the Coyotes have interest in from their prospect pool are Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg. At this point, from the Oilers' perspective, both prospects are untouchable. Spector stated in a tweet on Friday that the Oilers' current offer of 2016 4th overall pick Jesse Puljujarvi and a first round pick are not enough for Arizona to pull the trigger on a deal.
