The Calgary Flames appear to be heading into Game 7 against the Dallas Stars short one of their regular defenseman after the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Saturday that Nikita Zadorov would have a hearing for Friday's illegal check to the head of Dallas Stars forward Luke Glendening.

Zadorov was not issued a penalty on the play, which is odd considering the fact that the head was very clearly the principle point of contact. Here's a look at the hit.

As we tend to see on hits that result in an injury, Zadorov will likely receive a multi-game suspension, likely two games. The interesting thing is what happens if he's issued a multi-game suspension and the Flames lose Game 7. In that event, Zadorov would have to serve the reminder of his suspension at the start of next season.
