Former NHLer says the Leafs would be insane to replace Dubas, Keefe

Yes, they lost another series and another Game 7, but honestly, you can't say that the Leafs didn't deserve to win. They were the better team 90% of the series. The big boys showed up and Campbell stood on his head. Bad bounces and bad officiating were undeniable x-facfors in this series.

This was a huge step forward even if it doesn't seem like it after last season. The Leafs dominated the series, even though they had almost spent 40 more minutes shorthanded than Tampa had. They shelled Vasilevskiy and made him look human and none of Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Rielly or Nylander were invisible.

People are very quick to say trade everyone or blow it up and Dubas and company, haven't given into the pressure before and likely won't again this off-season. They are moving in the right direction folks, whether you want to believe it or not. Yes, this is technically Keefe's third season as the head coach, but it is also his first full 82-game season. There needs to be some tweaking, as with every team, but the core should be here to stay. So should Dubas. So should Keefe. So should Shanahan.

It took the Capitals and Ovechkin 14 years before they finally broke through and the Oilers are in year 7 of McDavid and still haven't done anything. So everyone just take a step back and relax for a minute.
