NHL trade rumours have been continuing daily since the off-season began in July. Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks is certainly one of the more noteworthy players who could be on the move, but his NMC will allow him to control his fate, so to speak.

Kane has been with the Hawks since the 2007-08 season and has won three Stanley Cups in Chicago. The 33-year-old winger said this week during his press conference that the trade rumours were "just a lot of noise", revealing that there were never any real offers, according to his agent.

Today, NHL insider Kevin Weekes stated that there are three top teams on Kane's trade list and those teams are the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and Washington Capitals. One team that wasn't mentioned was the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is a surprise considering the fact that the Buds were rumoured to have checked in on Kane. There is a lot at stake this season in Toronto, but at this point, it doesn't appear as though Kane will be lining up alongside Auston Matthews anytime soon.
