There was a massive amount of pressure on Nick Robertson entering training camp this season. After two straight injury plagued seasons, some felt that it was boom or bust for him entering camp. After a quiet first week of camp, Robertson certainly made a statement on Friday in Belleville.

Robertson had 3 points in Friday's 6-3 win against the Sens, including two absolute sensational goals. Known for his shot and scoring prowess, Robertson had struggled to find the space and time to score in his previous training camps, but he appears to have made the necessary adjustments this time around. Of course it helps when you're able to pick the brain of the best goal scorer in the league daily in Auston Matthews.

Following his statement game, Robertson discussed the changes to his game saying, "I think you can see I'm moving my feet more, trying to be more deceptive. That is the main confidence build I'm getting." You could clearly see his improved footwork on one of his goals where he had to reach back to receive the pass and quickly turn and shoot.

With cuts expected to come to the Leafs training camp roster this weekend, Robertson picked the perfect time to have a breakout game and all but guaranteed he will be a part of the final roster.
