It was a very competitive first period in Game 7 between the Leafs and the Lightning, but unfortunately for the Bolts, it appears as though they'll be without the services of superstar forward Brayden Point.

Point was in a bit of a race for the puck with Leafs defenseman Mark Giordano when he appeared to toe pick along the boards, twisting his right leg and going down screaming in agony.

Point did pop up and make his way off the ice under his own power, but he was not putting any weight on his right leg at all. It's possible that Point has torn or pulled his groin, judging by how he was clutching at it before hobbling off.

Obviously, nobody wants to see a good young player like that lost due to an injury. We all hope that Point is okay, but the Bolts are going to fight for the win regardless. They currently hold a 1-0 lead in the contest. For Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe, I'm sure he'll look to exploit the matchups as much as he can to give the Leafs a bit of an advantage. The injury is unfortunate, but at this time of the year, they occur - and unfortunately for the Bolts, this could give the Leafs a real edge.

**Update - surprisingly, Point is on the Tampa bench for the start of the second period. He has taken one shift and appears to be done for the night**
