During last night's broadcast of the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche, TNT analyst and former enforcer Paul "Biz Nasty" Bissonnette stated that the female fan base of the NHL is mainly watching due to hockey players being attractive.

It's something that should not have been said and someone on the panel should have said something at the time, whether on air or not. Watching the broadcast last night, it seems his comment was made as a "throwaway" joke about Tyler Seguin, who famously took part in ESPN's "Body Issue" a few years back, where athletes strip down to their birthday suits and pose for photos to promote their respective sports and body positivity.

Regardless of whether or not it was a throwaway comment, it's something that should not have been said. Especially given the circumstances surrounding Hockey Canada, the climate around the questionable culture of the sport and an organization that Bissonnette has represented in the past.

This isn't the first time Bissonnette has come under fire for his comments on TNT while broadcasting a Dallas Stars game. He also came under fire when he made a comment last season about a large-breasted woman sitting behind the Stars' bench.

I'd imagine that TNT will have something to say about the comment. Whether or not any further action is taken remains to be seen.
