Insider confirms full details of William Nylander's mysterious ailment

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has finally provided an official update on Maple Leafs William Nylander, confirming the specifics of his mysterious injury.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have had to play all 3 of their games of their first round series against the Boston Bruins without William Nylander in the lineup. Unfortunately, missing one of their top players has had an adverse effect on their overall game and they're currently down 2 games to 1 in the series.

The details of Nylander's medical issue have slowly leaked out over the past few days, first with Jordan Schmaltz calling it an "upper-body ailment". Next, TLN's Nick Alberga elaborated, stating that Nylander was actually dealing with a head injury, leading to a lot of speculation over a possible concussion.

On Thursday, Elliotte Friedman revealed in an official report that Nylander's absence is actually due to a severe migraine issue.



Nylander has had previous issues with migraines, stemming back to 2022 when he switched to a tinted visor in hopes of helping to combat the migraine disorder, Friedman also revealed.

After playing in all 82 games, it was really strange to see Nylander miss all 3 games so far against Boston. Now, with Friedman's latest report, it makes more sense as to why he has been held out.

Anyone who has had a migraine knows exactly how debilitating they can be. Now imagine trying to take part in an intense physical activity for 60 minutes while having to endure a migraine. That doesn't exactly sound appealing.
